People Development and Training
Staffing resources are the engine of an organisation. Very little will happen in an organisation without staff. Training, development and regular feedback through supervision is the key to getting the best out of staff. If this does not happen, staff will simply leave, or even worse, wither on the vine.
Your staff are the most important resource you have. They have the capacity and potential to grow at a faster and higher rate than any of the others. Given training, information, motivation, a sense of belonging to a group, an achievable task, some meaningful reason for doing the work, and an organisation with a strong positive corporate identity, staff will out-perform all other resources every time.
We can help you make that self-evident. We help you develop bespoke development programmes tailored to support individual staff or team within your organisation
All our consultants are people and organisational development practitioners with expertise in helping you create solutions to overcoming development issues within your organisation.
It is not all about training, that is just one of the tools. Sometimes it is not needed at all.
Resource and Interim Management
We can provide interim resource managers to cover all local government and NHS responsibilities.
Our interim managers are dynamic action-centred leaders who believes that the task in hand is the overriding priority.
They lead by example, delegate where appropriate for the task and / or staff development and listen. They will make complex decisions as soon as they have enough Information to do so and always within the usable time frame.
Like all good managers they do not carry just one or two tools in their skills set, but have them all, using the appropriate one at the appropriate time.
Our interims will bring you:
Innovation
We are led by creativity and innovation.
Communication
Information in all its different presentational forms is the lifeblood of all organisations. Our interim managers communicate to be understood.
Strategic Change Management
Our interim managers believe wholeheartedly in the “change agenda”. It is the effective method of reviewing the way and cost of providing public services. We do not worship it mantra-like, until it blends into the background and gets lost. The change agenda brings a new sense of positive energy into organisations, which if managed properly can have a profound effect on staff and customers of that organisation. We can help you through those changes.
Project Management
Our interims have detailed knowledge and understanding of the principles, processes and systems associated with manual and electronic project management techniques.
Equal Opportunities
We are through training, experience and history strongly in favour and supportive of equal opportunities initiatives in all organisations. In some cases we have to remove some of the difficult obstacles created by our journey through history.
We believe that the way to change people’s perception is through education, affirmation and leadership by example. Managers are not employed to control what people think, but to manage what they do and how they behave whilst working for the organisation. Managers must create environments where all staff, regardless of their perceived differences, are treated in a positive, fair and transparent way.
Our interim managers will ensure that happens.
Management Experience
Our most experienced interim manager for example has twenty-five years experience as a manager and supervisor, both in the private and public sectors. He has managed and been accountable for services and organisations with turnovers of up to £20,000,000. He has managed at both detail and strategic level and has a clear understanding of the difference between them.
Life Coaching and Mentoring
Our life coaching and mentoring consultant is a fully trained life coach and mentor who has been practicing privately for a number of years. He seeks to help individuals create internal environments where they will seek to be successful. He prefers to use the GROW model for mentoring and coaching. He also has and uses highly developed listening skills.
GROW is an acronym for:
Goal: Coach and coachee agree on a specific aim, objective and topic for the discussion. What will the outcome look, taste, feel, smell and or sound like?
Reality: Both coach and coachee invite self-assessment and offer specific examples to illustrate their points. What is going on right now that tells you that you have a problem.
Options: Coach elicits suggestions from the coachee by asking effective questions that guides him/her towards making the right choices. Incrementalism is the key to success.
Will / Way forward coach and coachee commit to action, define a timeframe for their objectives and identify how to overcome obstacles.
We have been successful with all our clients in helping to create environments where they can be successful. We will assist people in this by helping them to identify and focus on achieving goals that are key to their success, either in a work, relationship, or any other area of their lives. The key to effective coaching is rapport* building.
Rapport* A harmonious or sympathetic connection. The ability to enter each client’s model of the world, using visual, auditory and kinaesthetic rapport building techniques, and give them the feeling that they are understood by you.
We use various personal development strategies, depending on the individual needs of the client. In general, however the principles discussed by Stephen Covey in “7 Habits Of Highly Effective People” are universal and should be the main generic principles for environment building by high performance life coaches.
The principles are as follows:
-
Be proactive - the principles of personal vision.
To be proactive means to be responsible for our own lives. To ensure that our behaviour is a function of our decisions, rather than a reactive response to some conditional stimuli. Being proactive means that we are constantly seeking to reduce our circle of concern and increase our circle of influence.
-
Begin with the end in mind. The principles of personal leadership.
All achievements have to be imagined first, then created in reality.
-
Put first things first - the principle of personal management.
-
Paradigms of Interdependence
Give Positive – Get Positive.
-
Think Win / Win - the principles of interpersonal leadership.
-
Seek first to understand, then to be understood - Principles of empathic communication
Through listening we gain insight and renewed perception of what is being said.
-
Synergise - principles of creative cooperation
-
Sharpen the saw - principle of balanced self –renewal.
Self and Anxiety Management
Our lead self and anxiety management consultant is a qualified therapist who has a degree in The Psychology of Human Behaviour. She has years of experience of enabling individuals to regain control of their life and health, working from the premise that regardless of who, or what, you are or have been, you can become what you want to be and you can begin that journey, now!
Through the use of specific task based activities, we lead individuals through a journey of self-discovery and awareness, which untaps hidden potential and growth.
We are experienced anxiety management trainers using both behavioural and cognitive techniques. Individuals progress from increased awareness of the symptoms of anxiety to being more effectively able to manage anxiety states in their lives.
Health and Personal Development
Our lead health and personal development consultant has a Diploma in Health and Personal Development. She is also a qualified Reiki practitioner (Part 1&2).
She uses Reiki to encourage the body’s natural ability to restore itself to physical, mental and emotional balance. Using a structured programme, she guides individuals or groups through a process of unlearning negative, self destructive attitudes to a place where they are free to pursue their dreams and goals without fear or inhibitions.
